Consultancy service: from day one our team will be on-call for any questions you may have and to guide you through the process – all the way from concept to creation. Anything you need, our team will be here to help.
Schematic capture: This is a vital part of the design process in which the electronic diagram, or electronic schematic of the board is created. This is done with the help of a tool, known as a schematic editor. Schematic capture is a hugely important part of the process as this electronic diagram will show the designers where the electrical components need to be on the board, enabling it to function effectively when manufactured and assembled.
Bill Of Materials (BOM) creation: When designing the board we must decide what components we are going to use. This will differ from board to board depending on the product and its intended function. A BOM is essentially a file that outlines and indicates the different components to be used as we head into the manufacturing process. For example, if your board will be used in a product such as a satellite in space, the highest quality and most durable components would need to be used to withstand the environment – this would be outlined in the BOM.
CAD layout and design: At ABL Circuits we use a design software called Altium to create our CAD layout and design. Our experienced team use Altium to layout the design of the board, the size and shape, the different layers this may incorporate and where the components will be placed.
